Email support
HustleBoard is made by one person, so replies aren't instant — but nothing gets ignored. Bug reports get looked at first.
What to put in your message
The more of this you include, the more likely the first reply actually fixes it rather than asking you questions:
- What you were doing — the screen you were on and the buttons you tapped, in order.
- What happened, and what you expected instead.
- Which app — the iPhone app or the web app, and which browser if it's the web app.
- Your iPhone model and iOS version — Settings → General → About.
- The HustleBoard version — open HustleBoard, then Settings → About; the version is under the app name.
- A screenshot, if it's a visual problem. Turn on Settings → Hide amounts first if you'd rather not show your figures — the app blanks out every dollar amount while it's on.
Please never send card numbers, PINs, bank logins or passwords — not to us, not to anyone. We will never ask for them, and HustleBoard has no field to put them in. A card nickname and the last 4 digits are all the app ever stores.
Frequently asked questions
Where is my data?
On your device, and only there. On the iPhone it's in HustleBoard's own private storage — the part of your phone only this app can read. In the web app it's in your browser's storage for this website, on whichever computer or phone you're using.
There is no HustleBoard server and no account, so there is no copy of your figures anywhere else. We can't see them, and we can't get them back for you if the device is lost — which is why backups matter.
Does it sync between my phone and the website?
No. They're two separate copies. What you type on the phone stays on the phone; what you type in the browser stays in that browser. Nothing travels between them, because nothing travels anywhere.
To move your records from one to the other, export a backup from the first and import it into the second — see the next question. It's a manual copy, not a sync: whatever you import replaces what was there.
Pick one as your main place to enter things. The phone is the one designed for it; the web app is handy for a quick look on a laptop.
How do I back up, or move to a new phone?
To make a backup:
- Open HustleBoard → Settings → Data & Backup.
-
Tap Export backup. You get one file named like
hustleboard-backup-2026-09-19.jsonwith everything in it — hustles, sales, bills, cards, settings. - The share sheet opens: save it to Files or iCloud Drive, or email it to yourself. In the web app it downloads instead.
To move to a new phone:
- Export a backup on the old phone and put the file somewhere the new one can reach it.
- Install HustleBoard on the new phone and open it.
- Settings → Data & Backup → Import backup, then pick the file.
- It warns you that this replaces everything on that phone, and asks you to confirm. On a brand-new phone there's nothing to lose, so that's fine.
Worth doing every month or so, and definitely before you erase anything. You can also export a CSV of your transactions from the same screen for Numbers, Excel or Google Sheets.
How do I clear the example data?
Settings → Data & Backup → Erase everything. It asks twice, then wipes the device clean and you start fresh. There's no undo.
One thing to know: the example set is worked-out records, not a special mode — once you start adding real sales on top of it, the app can't tell the example ones from yours. So look around the example first, then erase it and enter your own from scratch.
If you already have real records and want to look at the example, export a backup first. "Load example data" replaces everything that's there, and importing your backup afterwards puts it back.
Is the Credit Coach advice?
No. The Credit Coach is a free tool that organizes your card dates and shows general educational tips. It is not credit repair, and it is not financial, legal or tax advice. HustleBoard doesn't connect to your bank or card accounts. Everything here comes only from what you enter, and it stays on your phone. Card issuers decide when and what they report, and credit scores differ by model and version (FICO, VantageScore and others). We can't predict or promise any change to your score. Always confirm dates, balances and policies with your card issuer.
In practice that means: it does the arithmetic and the calendar for you, and it explains the general rules — such as that issuers usually report the balance on your statement's closing date, not on the due date. What you do with that is your call.
Why is there no login?
Because there's nothing to log in to. HustleBoard has no server, so your records are never uploaded anywhere — which means there's no account to protect, no password to steal and no database of other people's money for someone to break into.
The trade-offs are honest ones: no syncing between devices, no "forgot password" to rescue you, and if you lose the phone without a backup, the records are gone. To lock the app on your own device, turn on Face ID in Settings → Privacy.
